Product Description

TeleBeacon Type 1 is an AIS Regional Derivative 'Aids To Navigation' device designed to operate in conformance with ITU-R M.1371, IEC62320-2 (CDV) and IALA Recommendation A-126 on the use of the Automatic Identification System (AIS) in Marine Aids to Navigation.

TeleBeacon Type 1 supports AIS VDL messages 6, 8 and 21. Message selection and transmission schedule is user configurable.

TeleBeacon Type 1 is designed for battery and solar installation operation and a power consumption of less than 0.7W @ 12V.

Installed on an AtoN (viz. buoy), accurate AtoN information is provided to both the mariner and authority. This information includes the AtoN’s identification (MMSI), name, on or off position indication, position accuracy, AtoN type and size. Telemetry, meteorological and hydrological data will be broadcast if interfaced to the appropriate sensors.

TeleBeacon Type 1 is a multifunction AIS AtoN device. AIS information is provided in accordance with ITU-R M.1371, IEC62320-2 (CDV) and IALA Recommendation A-126, broadcasting AIS, weather, sea and telemetry data.

TeleBeacon Type 1 is capable of third party integration (LED Flashers, Lantern / Lamp changers, meteorological and hydrological sensors, etc.). A specific third party product or sensor interface could be included on request, if not already provided with TeleBeacon Type 1. In addition to supplying AIS information, TeleBeacon Type 1 can also be used to provide a remote monitoring and control system. Message 21 could include telemetry statuses, using the regional or local application data field. Internal event setting can be used, which is user configurable. Additionally message 6 and 8 could be used for this purpose. Monitoring data can include solar voltage, battery voltage, status of operating lamp or flasher, number of available lamps remaining (lamp changer), sun-switch status, active flash code, lamp current, etc.

TeleBeacon Type 1 can be used for marking or delineating routes, areas, tracks and limits in traffic separation schemes, areas to be avoided, etc. It can be used to mark and identify offshore structures such as oil and gas platforms, wind energy sites, etc.

When received by an AIS base station or mobile unit which is connected to a compatible computer running an electronic chart (ECS, ECDIS) and/or SCADA system, the TeleBeacon Type 1 data can be logged and displayed giving the operator a visual interpretation of the TeleBeacon-S and respective AtoN’s operational status. Required alarms can be generated when applicable, such as off position.
